Post by Bob HobdenPost by Stephen WolstenholmePost by TinaPost by Stephen WolstenholmePost by TinaI have a lovely sage bush and I spotted two beetles, like ladybirds but
shiny green on there, mating. Are they anything to worry about?
The green sage beetles are so beautiful than I don't try to get rid of
them.

Well, I have to admit they are attractive but what will they do to my
sage and rosemary bushes? During the summer I dry sage and
rosemary for
winter use.
I've never known them do much damage to sage.
I can't find anything online that is called a sage beetle. It's not
rosemary beetle, there are no stripes. It was exactly like a ladybird,
but iridescent green. Two, mating. I've searched online for green
ladybirds, but can't find one like these. So what is it? Curious mind
wants to know.
It's not the common green capsid bug by any chance Lygocoris pabulinus.
I don't know, I'll look it up and let you know.
No, it's not that, nothing like it. It's as I said, exactly like a
ladybird in size and shape but shiny green. It definitely didn't have
stripes, but was behaving like a rosemary beetle i.e. mating on my sage
bush. I'm a bit stumped now.
